Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Tax Supervisor to join their growing public accounting team. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex tax engagements, serve as a trusted advisor to clients, mentor developing professionals, and play an important role in the continued growth of the firm's tax practice.
The ideal candidate enjoys managing multiple engagements, developing staff, building client relationships, and providing proactive tax planning solutions across a diverse client base.
Responsibilities Review complex federal and state tax returns for partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, individuals, fiduciaries, and other entity types. Supervise multiple tax engagements from planning through completion while ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely delivery. Review trial balances, general ledger activity, and financial information while identifying necessary tax and book adjustments. Conduct tax research and interpret federal and state tax law to resolve technical issues. Provide proactive tax planning and consulting to clients throughout the year. Develop and maintain strong client relationships while serving as a primary point of contact. Mentor, coach, and review the work of interns, associates, and senior associates. Assist with workflow management, engagement scheduling, and departmental initiatives. Participate in business development activities and contribute to the continued growth of the firm. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting. CPA license preferred (or actively pursuing). 4+ years of public accounting tax experience, including experience reviewing tax returns and supervising engagements. Strong technical knowledge of partnership, corporate, and individual taxation. Experience researching tax issues and communicating technical concepts to clients. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Experience with CCH tax software is a plus.
